Introduction
This guide will walk you through the shutting down of Nikon Ti2 WF microscope, located at the Balgrist Campus, Room Microscopy 3 W.112.

Press the escape button, until it will appear green.

Press and hold the escape button for another 1-2 sec, so it will reset your last remembered focused position.

With step you will reset the last remembered focused position of objective. It avoids possible collision of the stage and objective during exchange of inserts and/or samples.

Access the sample by opening the front and top sliding covers of the box.

Lean back the condenser arm

Open the chamber lid.

Unmnount your sample.

Take out the stage insert

You may need pulling with a little force as the insert hold on its place with a magnet.

Place the insert on the table.

If another user is scheduled after you, it might be helpful to coordinate with them about the type of insert they need. This way, you can avoid unnecessary steps, like one of you removing the insert and the next person having to put it back.

Clean the objective.

Oil immersion objective clean with kimtech wipes and 100% EtOH.

Water immersion objectives - wipe the water first and then clean with water.

If you locate some dust on dry objectives, you can wipe them with kimtech wipes, as well.

Take your time and clean the objective propely.

If you find some huge dirt or scratch on the objective lens, let us know in feedback form.

Switch to the 4x objective in the Software.

Close the SW.
-
If you have some unsaved images open, the SW will ask you if you want to save them or discard them.

Turn off the computer in the Windows START menu

In the last step, switch off the control box
