For sample preparation purpose ZMB users can use the General Lab located at building Y42, H floor, room 86.

Gloves you will find on the right side in all sizes.

In the labelled drawers you find consumables, such as pipette tips, eppendorf tubes, falcon tubes, microscope slides, cover glasses, etc.

Place sharp objects and used pipette tips in the yellow bins.

Used tissue paper and gloves can be trashed in the green waste bin.

If something is not in place or is empty, please let someone from the staff know.

Please place contaminated glassware or reusable plasticware next to the sink and it will be washed in batches.

Non-halogenated waste: collect in labeled bottle and empty in yellow capped container under the hood, when full.

Heavy metal waste: collect in labeled bottle and empty in container under the hood, when full.

Arsenic waste: collect in labeled bottle.

Halogenated waste: collect in red capped, labeled container under the hood.

Please only fill the large waste containers under the hood to 3/4.

Biological waste produced during your sample preparation or imaging session can be disposed of in the cell culture room in building Y42, H floor, room 97a.

Before using the cell culture lab or disposing biological waste, request access to room Y42H97a from the ZMB staff.

The biological waste container is under the laminar flow hood.

If you BSL-2 samples that you need to dispose of, please discuss with the responsible person for the imaging system and they will support you.

ELGA MilliQ water purifier is located in the Y42 building, H floow, room 88. Ultrapure, 18.2 MΩ·cm water can be collected here.

Before using the machine, open the tap and allow water flow.

After using the machine, close the tap to stop water flow.

Working with radioactive substances requires training. Please reach out to the ZMB staff for traning.

If you produce waste that doesn't fit with any of the above-mentioned categories, please bring it back to your lab and organize disposal yourself.
